Microsoft Bing Makes a Bang
Posted on:  Jun 05, 2009

Bing is the new voice of Search! Microsoft’s much talked of search engine Bing is fully operational now. The search engine has been happily embraced by everyone and is expected to provide a unique search experience to its users.Microsoft Bing is said to be a replacement of Windows Live Search, which was not as successful or powerful as Google or Yahoo!

With the spirit of vying the competition that is practically led by Google, Bing has come up with a couple of specialized features. Here’s a glimpse of some of these:

Search: The predominant function for which a search engine is developed- the search criteria seems interesting and pretty user friendly. The users can make the settings as per their preference - they can conduct a safe search, or set multiple filters to suit their search convenience. The left hand side navigation bar helps make each search a customized one. The best part of the search is likely to be the Quick preview snippet attached with each search result. It lets you preview the information about a particular page amongst the search results before you visit it.

Home Page: Bing’s Home Page is refreshingly unlike other search engines. It shows a nice wallpaper in the Background, which keeps changing on regular intervals. Rolling the mouse pointer on the image tells you some interesting facts about the various elements present in it. Pretty nice concepts to engage the users, needless to say, the graphics are amazing!

Additional Features: Apart from the Images, Videos, Shopping and Travel links that are common to all search engines, Bing has a ‘Popular Now’ link which shows the topics that are getting a buzz on Bing. All-in-all, do I personally recommend you to use Bing? Certainly yes, if you are looking for a smart, uncluttered, manageable search engine.

Happy Binging!

I have always thought that I`m a google addict, and would not use any other search engine. But I have been lately using Bing and am pretty satisfied. I specifically like its quick snippet preview.

Yeah!! Bing is doing very well in the market. As far as the look and feel is concerned Bing has very refreshing and soothing design. I love the "more on this page" feature of the search engine. They have not only built a search engine infact they have added a life into it. Moreover, this article is very detailed and useful. Thanks for sharing pretty useful piece of information. :-)
