Client: EVI
Business Sector: Clean Development Mechanism
Solution: Website Revamp with Content Management System
View Project: www.emergent-ventures.com
The Client:
Emergent Ventures India has been expanding as a renowned CDM advisory in India Since its inception in late 2004 to provide solutions to mitigate climate change. The company?s first CDM project was registered in 2005. Till date 20 projects have been registered covering a wide array of sectors. Towards the end of 2006, Emergent Ventures stepped into the voluntary market and achieved its first success. In 2007, the company launched another service - Carbon Neutrality, for Corporates and organizations to achieve the "zero emissions" goal.
Issue:
EVI required a complete image makeover from a static website to a dynamic content driven website. Hence, the website needed to be upgraded for its unaddressed needs like aesthetics, usability as well as the backend management for updating variety of content. The existing website didn?t truly reflect EVI?s image of a Clean Development Mechanism organization. The structure of the website made it difficult to handle large amount of information, which also required to be updated regularly.
Solution:
Zed-Axis Technologies proposed a completely redesigned website along with a customized Content Management System (CMS), enabling the client to have easy control in managing the content. The CMS is a dot net nuke based web application, which allows the website Administrator to update any section.
This application also gives Administrator the rights to use any of the provided functionalities on any page as per the preferences. For e.g. the module developed for news updates could be used on other pages with minimal changes.
Information architecture and look & feel of the site were restructured to lend a global image to EVI phase one launch. The design team evolved a superior quality web design with user friendly navigational structure to revamp the previous image.
After continuously periodic meetings with the client and developing initial prototypes, we finally hit the bull?s eye with apt design for the website homepage that reflects the company?s true branding with its vision.
The entire website has been conceptualized around environmental solutions provided by the client. Subsequently, the design and user interface have been created using natural colors and subtle effects to give a soothing appearance through out the website.
Technology Used:
ASP.NET 2.0
SQL server 2005
C Sharp
CMS (Dot Net Nuke - Version 4.8.0)
The Impact:
The redesigned site has been launched with completion of its first phase of design and development. The second phase is user process and will soon be integrated to the website to make it completely functional as per the client?s requirements. The website now has a much more intuitive and global look & feel with enhanced usability, providing a more powerful visitor experience and enabling the administrator to keep the website updated with a user friendly CMS.
