  Client: Encompass

Solution: SMS Application

The Client:

Encompass is a BTL (Below The Line) company that organizes various kinds of promotional activities or advertising campaigns for different companies through out India. The SMS application was developed for one Encompass' client who is a leading beverage giant worldwide.

Issue:

To create an SMS-based Internet Grafitti Campaign application for promoting the Beverage Giant's branding at 65 locations across India. The primary requirement was to manage the campaign that involved receiving SMS's from the people present at places like malls, multiplexes and popular eating joints and displaying them at the big plasma screens installed there.

The Solution:

Our application development team created software for Beverage Company to manage the SMS campaign at different locations in India. The campaign's commercial screens have been designed in flash by our designing experts keeping the new branding in view.

As the campaign runs through a commercial screen, it begins with a TV advertisement followed by a message to participate in the contest. The participants have to type 'Brand Name', Location code followed by the text message and the name of the sender. The SMS is sent to the number (53030) and then displayed on the screen after moderation.

As soon as a user sends the message, it reaches the server where it is automatically moderated for offensive content and then sent to administrator for that particular location. The administrator receives a list of messages, out of which he/she manually approves them to be flashed in FIFO (First Inn First Out) fashion on the commercial screens.

The senders can view their SMS' on the plasma screens and interact with others senders located at the same outlet where the promotions are currently running.

The Impact:

The campaign application enables the users to interact in public through a new exciting mode of communication created that promotes the Beverage Giant as a brand and acts as a convergence of mobile with senses.
