Objective:
The objective was to track the Secondary Sales; after collating the monthly sales data from distributors across the country. The unanimous choice for attaining this objective was a web-based application with multiple role-based accesses.
Challenges:
- Retrieving the data from all the distributors across the country
- Checking the data
- Cleaning and Formatting the data
- Merging multiple files from each distributor
- Mapping the data city wise
Solution:
Zed Axis came up with a web based Business Intelligence Tool leveraging the power of Internet to bring along the data from all distributors to a common platform and thereby massaging it to convert into a usable format.
Technology:
The data warehouse was built using the SQL Server for data storage and SQL OLAP services for the OLAP Cube(s). The Business Intelligence tool was built using J2EE and interacts with SQL-OLAP service using XMLA.
Benefits:
- Authenticated data was available for Manufacturing Projections, Sales Reports and various Dealer Incentive Schemes and Loyalty programs.
- Better monitoring of sales and timely initiation of corrective actions.
- Reports could be generated in both Tabular and Graphical formats for clear differentiations.
