Solution: Business Intelligence Tool
The Client:
Logitech: With products sold in almost every country in the world, Logitech's leadership in innovation now encompasses a wide variety of personal peripherals (both cordless and corded), with special emphasis on products for PC navigation, gaming, Internet communications, digital music and home-entertainment control. Logitech products are distributed in more than 100 countries worldwide through retail channels or through strategic partnerships with top-tier PC manufacturers. Logitech has sales offices in major cities in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
Issue:
The objective was to track the Secondary Sales; after collating the monthly sales data from distributors across the country. The unanimous choice for attaining this objective was a web-based application with multiple role-based accesses. The main challenges were to retrieve the data from all the distributors across the country and clean the data after getting it verified. The client also required the application to merge multiple files from each distributor along with city wise data mapping.
Solution:
Our project management team did extensive research and brainstorming before proposing the final solution to the client. We streamlined the solution with the highest technology standards to deliver a hustle free sales tracking system that can help them manage their secondary sales.
Zed Axis came up with a web based Business Intelligence Tool leveraging the power of Internet to bring along the data from all distributors to a common platform and thereby massaging it to convert into a usable format.
Technology Used:
The data warehouse was built using the SQL Server for data storage and SQL OLAP services for the OLAP Cube(s). The Business Intelligence tool was built using J2EE and interacts with SQL-OLAP service using XMLA.
Impact:
- Authenticated data was available for Manufacturing Projections, Sales Reports and various Dealer Incentive Schemes and Loyalty programs.
- Better monitoring of sales and timely initiation of corrective actions.
- Real Time Reports could be generated in both Tabular and Graphical formats for clear understanding and differentiations.
